About the circuit

Climate

A mild part of eastern Spain. Sunny days are common. The season finale is held late in the year, when the air is cool even in the sun. The tires are slow to warm up, so the first laps call for care.

Track layout

Grandstands wrap around the track like a bowl, and 14 corners are folded into that space. The lap runs counterclockwise, with 9 left-hand corners and 5 right-hand corners. The 876 m main straight ends at the first corner almost at once. After that come tight turnarounds and quick changes of direction. The lap closes with a big sweeping left and then the final corner.

Where the action is

The hardest braking of the lap is at the first corner, at the end of the main straight. That corner and the hairpin right after it are the main places to pass. Turn 6 and Turn 11, the slowest corner on the track, can also be used to move up. There are few right-hand corners, so Turn 4 asks for extra care when the right side of the tire is cold.
